In the event of a shutdown of the federal government beginning on September 30, 2025, the Judiciary will remain open. The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Louisiana will open for regular business hours at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1st and continue all operations, case-related functions, and hearings until further notice. In cases that involve government attorneys not deemed “excepted” employees during the shutdown, those attorneys may request a continuance of scheduled hearings or an extension of applicable deadlines.
