Trustees

The United States Trustee Program is the component of the U.S. Department of Justice that supervises the administration of bankruptcy cases. The Office of the United States Trustee for Region Five serves the Western District of Louisiana.

United States Trustees appoint and supervise private trustees who administer bankruptcy estates under chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. Private trustees are not government employees. They do, however, work in concert with the United States Trustee to ensure the efficiency and integrity of the bankruptcy system. Click here for more information about private trustees.
