Bankruptcy Court for August 17 in Lafayette Cancelled
All hearings set for Wednesday, August 17 in Lafayette have been cancelled due to the conditions in Lafayette. While the court is open and accessible, so many of our attorneys and parties are in flooded areas and we don't want people to risk getting on the roads. So here is our plan. As to any matter which has been resolved already with the chapter 13 trustee, via requests for time to amend or continue to other dates, we will stay with those resolutions and minute entries will be entered. As to all other matters, we will continue to August 31. If you have a matter that you know needs some other resolution or continued date, please let both Ham and Alice know. On motions to extend the stay, we will extend the stay until the continued hearing.  Debtor Attorneys are requested to contact your clients and advise them not to come to court on Wednesday. We don't have any means of contacting them with that information so I`m relying on you to contact them. To our attorneys, if you have been affected by the flooding and need additional time for matters, please don't hesitate to contact Alice Dukes, Law Clerk to Chief Judge Robert Summerhays at (337) 262-6383.
