Hurricane Harvey Update #3

Due to the tropical storm and related weather issues, all hearings scheduled in Lafayette for Wednesday, August 30 are being cancelled. Hearings will be rescheduled to Tuesday, October 10, unless a different resolution has already been reached with the Trustee. If you have been in touch with the trustee and given deadlines to file an amended plan or for a continuance to a different date, those resolutions will stand. Counsel are asked to get in touch with your clients to advise them not to attend court this Wednesday.
 
All Chapter 7 Meeting of Creditors scheduled for Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Lake Charles are rescheduled to Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the same times. All Chapter 13 Meeting of Creditors scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Lake Charles have been rescheduled. Those meetings where Wade Kelly or Christian Chesson are the attorneys for debtors are rescheduled for Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Lake Charles at the same times. All remaining Chapter 13 meetings scheduled for August 31, 2017 are rescheduled to Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Lake Charles at the same times.
 
The staffed offices (Alexandria and Shreveport) of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Louisiana are currently open during regular business hours. We continue to monitor the after effects of Hurricane Harvey on the Gulf Coast Region of our district and will update this site should any of the above-mentioned locations need to be closed or should any court hearings need to be postponed.
