Applications for Use of Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF)

The Louisiana Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Louisiana provides multiple levels of access for users to file within our CM/ECF system. The minimum requirements for each level must be met in order to be provided access for filing at that level.  If you have any questions regarding which application you should complete and submit to the court, please do not hesitate to contact the Automation Department at (318) 676-4267 or (866) 721-2105 or Travis Boudreaux at (866) 789-6015 or (337) 262-6800.  Applications with original signatures are considered to be the official "Signature on File" with our court, and MUST be sent to the Court. Electronic Signatures such as  /s/ signatures, facsimile signatures or mechanically reproduced (copied or faxed) signatures are not acceptable substitutes, and will result in the applications being declined as incomplete.

Upon completion of your application by the court, you will receive an email which includes the URL to the court website, your login and password to file in our system, and a summary of the address information for your account.  Please provide a primary email address on your application that will provide secure receipt of this information.

Please submit your completed and signed application to the address indicated on the bottom of the first and third pages of the application for the type of access you are requesting.  Please note that the address differs depending on the type of access for which you are applying.

Limited Access Filer

• Provides access to file Proof of Claims, Notice of Appearance and Request for Notice, and Transfer of Claims
• Completion of Training Online CBTs is recommended.
• Suggested users are Creditors or Attorneys filing on behalf of Creditors who need to file the above items only.

Pro Hac Vice

• Provides full access to file as an attorney in a specific case.
• Requires training in CM/ECF filing by either our court or another CM/ECF filing court.
• Requires a Motion to Appear Pro Hac Vice be filed, and order granting, with the appropriate divisional office requesting to represent a specific party in a specific case.
• Requires payment of a $105.00 fee to Appear Pro Hac Vice, made payable to the U.S. District Court Western District of Louisiana.

***Completed hard copies of the Motion to Appear Pro Hac Vice, the payment to the U.S. District Court, and the Application for Use of ECF as Pro Hac Vice maybe be submitted to the court as a single packet for filing and processing.***

Attorney

• Provides full access to file as an attorney in any  bankruptcy case within the Western District of Louisiana.
• Requires training in CM/ECF filing by either our court or another CM/ECF filing court.
• Requires admission to practice in the U.S. District Court Western District of Louisiana and "in good standing" status.

Trustee and Trustee Staff

• Provides full access to file as trustee in any bankruptcy case within the Western District of Louisiana.
• Requires Trustee to complete training in CM/ECF filing by our court.
• Only available to those appointed as Trustee by the Office of the U.S. Trustee or members of their staff.
